Aviation's
Moved Into The 21st Century
So, Drop Yesterday's Data Sources And Move To The New
Standard

Pure
Analytical Firepower - and it's from Boyd Group International.
We're the consulting and research
firm that's been setting new standards for the past 25 years. We don't run with the pack -
we're ahead of it, and so are our clients. Our forecasts, trend analyses, and open
positions in the forum of aviation issues have set us apart from other consultants.
Since 1992, Airports:USA has been
the standard in airport data, beginning with the only enplanement forecasts accomplished
entirely in the private sector, using new methodologies that reflect the new realities of
the airline industry.
As former airline planners
ourselves, we recognized the weaknesses and shortfalls in traditional sources of aviation
data. One of the reasons for the growth and respect Boyd Group International has
achieved is that we've always questioned "the consensus" - because often it's
not based on reality. This is particularly true of traditional sources of aviation data.
Changes in the fundamental structure of the airline industry have rendered historical
federal reporting channels to be less than acceptably accurate in their native form.
Unfortunately, most vendors of this information don't fully realize this reality. The
result is partially-accurate or just outright bad information.
Now, you have a better source -
one that's developed by the leader in aviation trend forecasting. It's Airports:USA
DataMiner - the only on-line source that's constantly reviewed, monitored and
revised by proven leaders in aviation planning and forecasting to assure the maximum value
to our subscribers
Why Airports:USA®
DataMiner Is The Best Data Resource
It's Integrity-Filtered. The DataMiner software reviews
each line of data for accuracy and reasonableness.
It's Our Professional Work- Not Somebody Else's.
We first-source the data. We don't just purchase them from another vendor and pass reports
on to unwary buyers. We take the data and put them through the Airports:USA
DataMiner software, which identifies and addresses the "issues" that
come with raw data. We carefully review the data for errors and mis-reporting. We make
corrections and identify where data may be questionable. Professionals of Boyd Group
International are experts in current and emerging airline industry trends
It Addressees The Real Airline Industry. The
Airports:USA DataMiner software relies on a complex algorithm to aggregate traffic to the
correct carrier system. Other sources assume the "certificated carrier" is the
airline. It's not. Today, most airlines are typically comprised of combinations of
"certificated carriers." To report the passengers carried at ATL by, say, Mesa,
is inaccurate. Those are passengers of Delta, the airline that is leasing the lift
from Mesa. Some other sources either mis-report it as Mesa, or lazily dump these
passengers into separate, unidentified catch-all category. The DataMiner system, on the
other hand, properly applies these passengers to the airline system leasing the airplane
from the small jet provider.
It Identifies Reporting Errors. It identifies
mis-reported data - and there's a lot more of that than most people realize. Raw data,
which other sources typically just regurgitate and sell, may show Hawaiian Airlines as an
operator at Jackson, Mississippi. Or US Airways as serving Amarillo. DataMiner addresses
these issues.
It Addresses The Challenges of The Hub System. It
recognizes the shortfalls in current reporting channels. In many cases, traffic generated
by small airports served by small airlines (some code-shared, some not) is not accurately
allocated to the proper connecting destinations. As a result, Cheyenne may show close-by
Denver as its #1 O&D destination, when in fact there really is almost none.
DataMiner's sophisticated software identifies such cases and makes adjustments.
Sophisticated O&D Reconciliation. The raw DB1B
data are not entirely accurate and must be reconciled against other sources to assure
accurate destinational distribution at hubsite airports. Some other sources attempt this.
Others don't even try. DataMiner is far more sophisticated than any other source. One sign
of really sloppy data: any vendor peddling O&D tables from a mid-size or larger
airport where all the passenger numbers end in zero. It's sure sign they just took the 10%
DOT sample data and foisted it off on unwary purchasers, with out any reconciliation.
Delivers Data Fast & With Ease. Our interface
is intuitive and easy to use.Your time is important. So Airports:USA DataMiner is designed
with that in mind. You need data, not complex and confusing report request schemes.
Complete, Formatted Reports. The reports are
formatted and include a range of data you can use immediately. This is an important
feature of DataMiner - we give a range of metrics right away - you don' need to load it
into a spread sheet to waste time finding out what the data mean. You can sort many of the
columns right away, right on the screen. But all reports are still downloadable to a range
of formats for insertion into documents and for further analysis.
Kept Up To Date. Airports:USA® data are current.
When DOT issues a revision to prior quarters - which is not uncommon -our
subscribers have it right away. Other vendors, even some on-line, and particularly those
peddling static printed reports, are oblivious to this. And so are their customers.
The staff of Boyd
Group International invite you to review the example reports listed above. And don't
hesitate to access the complimentary current airport data available at www.AirportSnapshot.com.
We'd be honored to
have you join the distinguished aviation leaders who already subscribe to Airports:USA
DataMiner. For a price quote matching your specific needs, e-mail Bill Oliver at bill @
